Install Kubernetes Cluster on MacOS

Purpose

This article gives the steps to setup Kubernetes on macOS with Docker for Desktop.


Prerequisites

  • Docker for Desktop (Docker for Mac - 18.06 Stable or higher)


Install

  1. Open Docker Preferences
  2. Select Kubernetes
  3. Check box for Enable Kubernetes
  4. Check box for Deploy Docker Stacks to Kubernetes by default (Optional - Recommended)
Docker Desktop enable kubernetes
OR
Docker Desktop enable kubernetes 2


Test

kubectl config get-clusters
